01

Mechanism of action

CJC-1295 is a GHRH analogue carrying a drug affinity complex (DAC) that binds albumin after injection, extending its half-life to days. It stimulates pituitary GHRH receptors and raises GH and IGF-1.

02

Observed research endpoints

  • Two randomized placebo-controlled trials in healthy adults: a single injection raised mean GH 2- to 10-fold for 6 days or more and IGF-1 1.5- to 3-fold for 9–11 days.
  • Estimated half-life was 5.8–8.1 days; after repeated doses IGF-1 stayed above baseline for up to 28 days.
  • GH pulsatility was preserved: trough GH rose 7.5-fold, mean GH rose 46% and IGF-1 rose 45%, with pulse frequency and size unchanged.

03

Regulatory & safety context

  • Not approved by the FDA or EMA for any indication; research-grade material is not a medicine.
  • Listed as prohibited in sport by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
  • No serious adverse reactions were reported in the healthy-adult trials, which were small and short.
