01

Mechanism of action

FOXO4-DRI is a modified (D-retro-inverso) peptide that disrupts the binding of FOXO4 to p53 in senescent cells, pushing p53 out of the nucleus and triggering apoptosis selectively in those cells (a senolytic).

02

Observed research endpoints

  • In mice, it neutralised doxorubicin-induced toxicity and restored fitness, fur density and kidney function in fast-ageing and naturally aged animals.
  • In keloid tissue and fibroblast models, it promoted apoptosis of senescent fibroblasts.

03

Regulatory & safety context

  • Not approved by the FDA or EMA for any indication; research-grade material is not a medicine.
  • Evidence is from cell and animal studies; no human trials are cited.
