01

Mechanism of action

SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic small-molecule (not peptide) agonist of the estrogen-related receptors (ERRα/β/γ), which regulate mitochondrial and fatty-acid metabolism. It is described as an exercise mimetic.

02

Observed research endpoints

  • In mice it increased energy expenditure and fatty-acid oxidation, reduced fat-mass gain and improved insulin sensitivity in metabolic-syndrome models.
  • In mouse pressure-overload heart failure, it improved ejection fraction, reduced fibrosis and increased survival.

03

Regulatory & safety context

  • Not approved by the FDA or EMA for any indication; research-grade material is not a medicine.
  • Evidence is from mouse studies; no human trials are cited.
